Late 19th-Century fabrics are well preserved in American quilts, and each quilter had a unique approach to how the fabrics were worked into the quilt. This relatively simple patchwork pattern is enhanced with the wonderful calicos of the period, including one with tiny hearts on rust, another with small blue leaves on cocoa, and a checkerboard of teal blue with tiny flower motifs. Parallel line quilting throughout. Circa 1880. New England origin.
